The new Finematter tiers explained

Multi-brand e-commerce jewellery platform Finematter recently announced a new subscription-based model. Moving on from the original one-off fee which included marketing via the newsletter and social channels, plus photography, the new structure has a ‘tiered’ subscription model.

Key takeaways include:

The introduction of 4 new subscription tiers

This includes Unlimited product listings, Unlimited international markets, Automated international pricing, Automated shipping labels, Customs & import/export handling, 48h e-mail helpdesk

Note there is no marketing included in this cheapest Tier option.

These new fees are a shift from the previously accessible entry-fees to the site, and with a large and increasing number of Finematter partner jewellers it will be harder to stand out, particularly without any marketing support.

Is Finematter for you?

It is always useful to have a retail partner when you are starting out as a new jewellery designer, and the customer reassurance that brings, along with the delivery terms and processes. I would recommend asking for insights overall on how the jewellers are selling by price-point, and consider whether the investment may be better spent on social media budget or elsewhere.

In my opinion, Finematter need to work with new designers in disclosing accurate and transparent insights into traffic, sales and click-through figures in order to help new jewellers make the decision to invest at a time when budgets are tight and every penny counts.
